Sunny Boys by Kerry-Anne Knibbs, a symbolic artwork featuring Australian White Cockatoos representing joy, light and cultural connection.

Force of Nature – Finalist Exhibition

2025 | Art Lovers Australia, Melbourne, VIC

In 2025, symbolic artist Kerry-Anne Knibbs was selected as a finalist in the Force of Nature Exhibition presented by Art Lovers Australia in Melbourne.

The exhibition featured one of Kerry-Anne’s largest works, a two-metre painting depicting Brolgas in the twilight. The artwork was sold prior to the exhibition, with the gallery curators performing a special canvas turnaround during installation to reveal the work to visitors.

The exhibition also featured Kerry-Anne’s semi-abstract symbolic artworks, including Sunny Boys, featuring White Cockatoos, and an ode to the Australian White Ibis — a bird often unfairly nicknamed the “bin chicken.” Through her work, Kerry-Anne challenges viewers to look beyond labels and recognise the resilience, beauty and adaptability of Australia’s native wildlife, even within changing urban environments.

Kerry-Anne is grateful for the inclusive support provided by Art Lovers Australia, who have created an environment that recognises accessibility needs and supports artists with diverse circumstances.
