Blue Fringe Festival – Finalist Exhibition

In July 2024, symbolic artist Kerry-Anne Knibbs was selected as a finalist in the Blue Fringe Arts & Literature Festival in the Blue Mountains.

The Blue Fringe Arts & Literature Festival celebrates creativity and promotes mental wellbeing through the arts, featuring visual art, sculpture, textiles, photography, short stories and poetry from adult and high school categories. The 2024 exhibition was hosted at TAFE NSW Wentworth Falls.

Kerry-Anne’s finalist artwork, Dancing in the Rain, featured a joyful kookaburra as a reminder to find moments of joy, even during challenging times. Through symbolism and nature, the artwork reflects the uplifting and restorative power of creativity.

With a background as a teacher and community development worker in the Blue Mountains, Kerry-Anne values the important role creative spaces play in strengthening community connection and acknowledges the contribution TAFE NSW makes to the cultural life of the region.
