Self Portrait

At 21, I was full of excitement for the future — fearless, curious, and willing to discover. Sometimes when we are young, we do things in the search for identity and expression. In this self-portrait, I had 210 braids, so tight that my hair began to fall out. But it grew back.

Like many setbacks in life, what feels damaging in the moment can also become part of our growth. We adapt, heal, learn, and continue forward.

This work reflects not only youth and self-discovery, but also my thoughts about the future — especially the future we are creating for our children. Life responds to what we consistently give to it: effort, mindset, kindness, focus, belief, and care.
I invite you to imagine.

Synopsis

Kerry-Anne is a symbolic artist and author whose background in behavioural observation, psychology, and art interpretation shapes her considered approach to image and meaning, informing her own symbolic artworks born from this ongoing exploration. This book is a must-read for those drawn to art, spiritual mysticism, history, and the hidden threads that connect them. Stepping into the kaleidoscopic world of Hilma af Klint, it offers a rare, immersive journey into her visionary universe of art and mysticism. It unfolds like a magical mystery tour—revealing patterns, meanings, and resonances that feel both ancient and urgent. Within lie keys, transformative insights, and subtle “golden threads” of understanding that reward closer attention. At times it echoes everything everywhere all at once, yet remains firmly grounded in Hilma af Klint’s extraordinary vision—an artist grounded on earth with her imagination reaching into the multiverse. Intriguing, expansive, and impossible to ignore, this is a book that opens doors you may not want to close again.
